Current Benefits:

Exclusive Group Vessel Hull and Liability Insurance

Charter Lakes is always working on new ways to improve our Charter Policy and in 2012 we made substantial improvements to the existing policy and added new coverage benefits that have never been offered before.

Disappearing Deductible- New! For 2011, the Charter Lakes Policy is the only charter policy in the country that rewards its customers for being loss free with a lower hull deductible. The Disappearing Deductible clause lowers the PART A: Physical Damage Deductible for each year of claim free operation with the same vessel. This is how it works;
• Beginning in 2011, at your 2012 renewal, your original elected deductible will drop by 25%.
• Each subsequent year you remain claim free the physical damage deductible will be reduced by 25% until it reaches zero.
• Once it reaches zero it stays that way as long as you remain claim free with the same boat.

Many of our clients receive a premium discounts for electing a higher deductible when they initially purchase their policy.  Under this new coverage feature, our clients keep the premium credit while their hull deductible disappears. No one likes to have a claim. However, if the unforeseen does happen it sure does help to have a lower deductible or even better, a zero deductible.

Passenger Medical Payments – has been increased to $ 25,000 per passenger per occurrence.
Pollution Liability – has been increased to $ 854,400 regardless of the liability limit on the policy.
Towing and Emergency Assistance – has been increased to $ 2,500.

Hurricane Haul-out Reimbursement – In the event a hurricane watch or warning is issued in your area, the Charter Boat Policy will reimburse you 50% for the reasonable expenses you incur to either have the vessel hauled out and then subsequently launched or the cost you incur to hire a qualified individual to navigate the vessel to a safe harbor. The policy reimburses you up to $500 per Named Storm with a maximum of $1,000 per policy period.

Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA) - New! For 2012, the Charter Lakes policy will include TRIA Coverage automatically without charge. The premium charge for TRIA under prior year policies was $25.00. Effective 01/01/2012 the Charter Lakes policy will include TRIA Coverage automatically at no charge.
Dockside Liability – the Charter Lakes Charter Boat Policy now automatically includes Dockside Liability Coverage. This coverage protects you from liabilities to your passengers when they are using docks, gangways, floats or piers to access your boat. There is no additional premium charge for Dockside Liability.

Professional Angler Liability – for those of you who use your boat for Guided Sport Fishing, you have always been covered under our policy for passenger injuries that occur from fishing activities aboard your boat. Professional Angler Liability provides you with liability coverage for activities where you use your fishing skills to generate income away from your boat. This could mean conducting fishing seminars and workshops, exhibiting in sport and boat shows, distributor shows or dealer events. There is no additional charge for this coverage.

We are pleased to be able to provide this added protection to our client’s charter policies at no additional charge.
